Accounting Manager

Job Description

Anderson Direct Marketing is a vertically integrated direct marketing company. Based in San Diego, with over 160 employees, we provide complete direct marketing program development and execution services for clients across the nation.

The Accounting Manager directs all the financial activities at Anderson. This position is responsible for financial procedures and policies, company accounting practices, the maintenance of company fiscal records, the preparation of company financial reports, administration of the company Accounting systems and management of the banking and CPA partnerships.

We require a hands-on approach for all day-to-day Accounting functions including A/P, A/R, Payroll, Billing, Collections, Commission calculations, Key performance Indicators, Budget preparation and month end financial reporting.

Responsibilities Include:

• Directs Accounting and Administrative personnel in the planning and execution of daily responsibilities.
• Ensures that deadlines are met for all time sensitive tasks.
• Is proficient in all phases of Accounting functions, ensuring that cross training and redundancy is developed for all operations. Maintains personal involvement and provides backup as needed in each functional area of Accounting.
• Prepares and submits monthly financial statements to Anderson Executives.
• Interfaces with CPA firm as needed.
• Manages all financial records including general ledger, A/P, A/R, inventories and other accruals, payroll journal and general journal.
• Develops and maintains standard operating procedures for all Accounting processes.
• Interfaces with management team to understand the business and to facilitate accounting information that will support the constant development of our business and provide meaningful information to all management team members.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5+ years Accounting management experience preferably in a Manufacturing environment.
• Must be comfortable dealing with all levels in the organization and with key clients as needed.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Software proficiency on various Accounting systems and Microsoft Office.
